Activity-dependent selective transmitter release from the adrenal medulla.

The adrenal medulla represents the interface between the autonomic nervous system and endocrine systems. Neuroendocrine adrenal chromaffin cells contain a host of stress-associated hormones that are selectively released in response to specific stressors. Our lab studies the cellular and molecular mechanism for how this activity-dependent selective hormone release is achieved.
